解读新ACT命题方式和命题要求的变化

　　ACT考试每年举行6次，具体时间分别是2月、4月、6月、9月、10月和12月;其中2月考试只在北美地区举行。

　　据ACT考试的主办方负责人透露，为了在中国进行ACT考试的推广，ACT方面已经在中国的一些大城市设置了教学考试中心。并将在年内在国内的北京、上海、沈阳、青岛、大连、成都、广州，哈尔滨，西安等城市设置相关的考场，为考生参加ACT考试提供更大的便利。

　　ACT考试由美国大学测验组织机构ACT主办。ACT考试均不是单纯的语言考试，而是对学生综合能力的测试。考试重视学生对基础课程的掌握并检查学生一般学术能力，难度贴近高中生。必考科学为四个部分：英语、数学、阅读、科学，全部为选择题，共215道。总分36分，考试时间共175分钟。

　　ACT考试不分I和II。它包括四个部分：数学、英语、阅读、科学推理。这里值得一提的是科学推理，这部分整合高中、初中物理，化学，生物，语文，英语口语，笔试等学科，综合在一张卷子上，以推理题目的形式出现。出题方式比较灵活，考验对高中知识的掌握和逻辑能力。「ACT Plus Writing」则为上述四个科目外再加上一个30分钟的作文测试。所有美国4年制学院及大学均接纳ACT的成绩。正因为ACT是一个以课程为本的考试，许多要求SAT Subject Tests成绩的大学，都会完全或部份豁免ACT考生有关的要求。

　　新的ACT写作标准出台啦!无论从写作总时间，命题方式，命题要求，还是评分标准都有一些变化，复杂程度略有提升，但是同学们不要慌，小编为你们一一解读新版写作标准中的变与不变，知己知彼才能百战不殆，让我们一起见招拆招，从容应对ACT写作考试。

　　1.评分标准的变化：

　　首先，评分标准变成了写作总分1-36分，除了给出总分，还有四个分值在2-12分的写作单项分，这四个单项分别是Ideas and Analysis，Development and Support，Organization，Language Use and Conventions同学们是不是有点熟悉呢?没错，所谓的单项评分标准，只不过是对以往对ACT写作须具有的四大要素的每一要素给出分值，判断你在这方面写作能力达到什么程度，也就是说，更加细化量化了你的某一方面的写作能力啦。

　　2.时间变化：

　　40min。时间多了十分钟，同学们千万不要以为是ACT命题人对你们的怜悯所以仁慈的把时间延长，多出这10分钟有它的道理和用途。一定有什么发生了变化!

　　3.命题方式和命题要求的变化：

　　Many of the goods and services we depend on daily are now supplied by intelligent， automated machines rather than human beings. Robots build cars and other goods on assembly lines， where once there were human workers. Many of our phone conversations are now conducted not with people but with sophisticated technologies. We can now buy goods at a variety of stores without the help of a human cashier. Automation is generally seen as a sign of progress， but what is lost when we replace humans with machines? Given the accelerating variety and prevalence of intelligent machines， it is worth examining the implications and meaning of their presence in our lives.

　　Read and carefully consider these perspectives. Each suggests a particular way of thinking about the increasing presence of intelligent machines.

　　Perspective One

　　What we lose with the replacement of people by machines is some part of our own humanity. Even our mundane daily encounters no longer require from us basic courtesy， respect， and tolerance for other people.

　　Perspective Two

　　Machines are good at low-skill， repetitive jobs， and at high-speed， extremely precise jobs. In both cases they work better than humans. This efficiency leads to a more prosperous and progressive world for everyone.

　　Perspective Three

　　Intelligent machines challenge our long-standing ideas about what humans are or can be. This is good because it pushes both humans and machines toward new， unimagined possibilities.

　　Essay Task

　　Write a unified， coherent essay in which you evaluate multiple perspectives on the increasing presence of intelligent machines. In your essay， be sure to：

　　o analyze and evaluate the perspectives given

　　o state and develop your own perspective on the issue

　　o explain the relationship between your perspective and those given

　　Your perspective may be in full agreement with any of the others， in partial agreement， or wholly different. Whatever the case， support your ideas with logical reasoning and detailed， persuasive examples.

　　有对比才有发现!我们先来看一下不变之处：

　　首先，作文类型没有发生变化，还是persuasive essay，要求还是“state and develop your own perspective on the issue”(2015版样题);词数呢?以往要求500词左右，这次官方给出的6分新样题字数536词，5分新样题字数563词，所以说同学们，想拿写作高分，词数要求还是基本不变，写500词左右吧!

　　o 首先，你们肉眼一定直观发现，新版样题给了三个perspective!其中，一个偏against，另外两个偏for.然而有几个支持几个反对不是重点，重点在essay task新增了一个要求叫explain the relationship between your perspective and those given. 同学们有没有瞬间有一种“带着镣铐跳舞”的感觉?没错!接下来小编要说的话非常重要，请同学们认真读三遍!读三遍!读三遍!新版ACT的prompt要求你不但要有自己的立场(这个立场可以和任何一个perspective相同，不完全相同或者和所有perspective 都不同)，还要在文中对所有perspective的观点全部进行评价。这种评价即和你自己的立场联系起来，三个perspective中某些可能就是你的counterargument，而另一些则是或部分是和你立场相同的，你只需论证其合理性即可。

　　同学们，你愿或者不愿，perspectives就在那里，而你必须分析!这种分析也就是多出10min的缘由，你不得不在brainstorming中带着perspectives一起飞!

　　然而同学们此时也不要太过忧伤，其实小编觉得，这个要求说明你的观点里一定要有和prompt里的perspective们重合的，那些不重合的不就都是你的counterargument了嘛。因为要求你必须用到perspective里的观点，从一定程度而言反而节省了你搜肠刮肚brainstorming的部分脑细胞呢!
