ACT语法中都有哪些常见的错误

　　ACT考试由美国大学测验组织机构ACT主办。ACT考试均不是单纯的语言考试，而是对学生综合能力的测试。考试重视学生对基础课程的掌握并检查学生一般学术能力，难度贴近高中生。必考科学为四个部分：英语、数学、阅读、科学，全部为选择题，共215道。总分36分，考试时间共175分钟。

　　ACT考试不分I和II。它包括四个部分：数学、英语、阅读、科学推理。这里值得一提的是科学推理，这部分整合高中、初中物理，化学，生物，语文，英语口语，笔试等学科，综合在一张卷子上，以推理题目的形式出现。出题方式比较灵活，考验对高中知识的掌握和逻辑能力。「ACT Plus Writing」则为上述四个科目外再加上一个30分钟的作文测试。所有美国4年制学院及大学均接纳ACT的成绩。正因为ACT是一个以课程为本的考试，许多要求SAT Subject Tests成绩的大学，都会完全或部份豁免ACT考生有关的要求。

　　ACT考试全称“American College Testing”，中文名称为“美国大学入学考试”，是美国大学本科的入学条件之一，也是奖学金发放的重要依据之一。由ACT公司主办。ACT考试分为四个部分：文章改错(English)，数学(Math)，阅读(Reading)，和科学推理(Science Reasoning)。另外，作文为选考。

　　ACT(American College Test)考试与SAT考试均被称为“美国高考”，它们既是美国大学的入学条件之一，又是大学发放奖学金的主要依据之一及对学生综合能力的测试标准。这个考试也被所有美国四年制大学承认，与SAT相比学校没有偏向性，两个考试的成绩均接受。和SAT不同，ACT考试更像一种学科考试，它更强调考生对课程知识的掌握，同时也考虑到了对考生独立思考和判断能力的。从时间上看，ACT考试比SAT紧张;从难度上看，ACT考试比SAT更容易一些，尤其对中国的考生来说，选择ACT考试可能更容易在短期内获得相对满意的成绩!

　　以下10个错误涵盖了几乎所有ACT的标准语法规定问题，所附示例仅用于说明错误，不代表实际考试问题和难度;每一点的第一句斜体句是有错误的，第二句才是正确的。

　　1. Punctuation标点符号

　　Frederick Law Olmsted, the famous landscape architect, was also a conservationist.

　　Frederick Law Olmsted和the famous landscape architect指代同一事物，为同位语，两个名词之间需要用逗号隔开。同位语是常见的插入成分，理解意思时可以连同逗号一同删除。

　　2. Pronouns代词问题

　　Each of the trees had dropped their leaves.

　　Each of the trees had dropped its leaves.

　　Each of the trees强调每一棵树，是单数概念而their是复数概念。所以在指代时应用its。

　　3. Verb Tense and Agreement动词时态一致

　　I planted vegetables last year, but a late frost kills my tomatoes.

　　I planted vegetables last year, but a late frost killed my tomatoes.

　　本句结构为but引导的并列句，前句给出planted为过去式，后句时态应保持一致，用过去式killed。

　　4. Parallel Structure平行结构

　　The subjects Shana likes best are biology, physics, and studying French.

　　The subjects Shana likes best are biology, physics, and French.

　　句中由and引导并列, 前两个被并列成分为biology/ physics 所以为了格式应保持一致，应为French。

　　5. Sentence Fragments句子分段

　　While Charlie was at the beach to enjoy the sunshine and the ocean breeze.

　　While Charlie was at the beach, he enjoyed the sunshine and the ocean breeze.

　　由while引导的状语从句放在句首时，应用逗号和主句分隔开，标志从句结束。

　　6. Comma Splices逗号拼接

　　I moved to Washington when I was seven, my brother followed a year later.

　　I moved to Washington when I was seven, and my brother followed a year later.

　　英语句法上规定，每个句子有且仅可以有一个动词，而无论句子中有多少个逗号，本质还是一个句子。因此在第一句中出现了两个动词，是错误的。应改为and引导的并列句。

　　7. Conjunctions连接词

　　Thomas had been walking for miles, so he finally spotted his campsite in the distance.

　　Thomas had been walking for miles when he finally spotted his campsite in the distance.

　　he finally spotted his campsite in the distance句意上应为Thomas had been walking for miles这件事发生的时间，连接词改为when。如果两句之间用so连接，前句应为后句的结果。

　　8. Faulty Modification错误改正

　　Leaping from the window onto the roof, Grandma was delighted by the cat’s agility.

　　Leaping from the window onto the roof, the cat delighted Grandma with its agility.

　　在Leaping from the window onto the roof这个部分，Leaping这个动词发出者被省略，但是只有在发出者和主句动词发出者一致时才能省略。Leaping这个动词发出者为cat而不是grandma，所以做以上更正。

　　9. Idioms习惯用语

　　Choosing where to apply about college is a difficult process for high school students.

　　Choosing where to apply to college is a difficult process for high school students.

　　apply作为不及物动词搭配to使用，意思为申请…。

　　10. Frequently Confused Words高频率混淆单词

　　I completed all of the summer reading accept the Jane Austen novel.

　　I completed all of the summer reading except the Jane Austen novel.

　　本题考查形近词，音近词辨析。accept，动词，意思为接受。而except，介词，意思为除了…。
