2018ACT科学部分大纲

　　ACT，中文是“美国大学入学考试”，以美国初、高中课程内容为基础，主要考察学生知识掌握情况。

　　ACT考试由4门必考科目：英语、数学、阅读和科学推理，外加1门选考的写作组成，考试时长达3小时25分，满分36分。在美国中西部和南方很多州，ACT最初被当作毕业考试，是学校为测试学生对12年级以前所学知识的掌握情况而设立的，到了今天，它已经成为美国境内通用的大学入学考试之一。

　　The content of the Science Test includes biology, chemistry, physics, and the Earth/space sciences (for example, geology, astronomy, and meteorology). Advanced knowledge in these subjects is not required, but background knowledge acquired in general, introductory science courses is needed to answer some of the questions. The test emphasizes scientific reasoning skills over recall of scientific content, skill in mathematics, or reading ability. The scientific information is conveyed in one of three different formats: · Data Representation (38%). This format presents graphic and tabular material similar to that found in science journals and texts. The questions associated with this format measure skills such as graph reading, interpretation of scatter plots, and interpretation of information presented in tables, diagrams, and figures.

　　· Conflicting Viewpoints (17%). This format presents expressions of several hypotheses or views that, being based on differing premises or on incomplete data, are inconsistent with one another.
